A woman caught trying to use counterfeit currency at a Walmart is accused of attempting to eat the evidence when she was confronted by Miami-Dade police.

A woman nabbed for using counterfeit money at a Miami Walmart on Sunday tried to dispose of the incriminating evidence by eating it.

The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. when a woman—identified as Zipporah Abraham—used phony currency with a Walmart customer service staff member, WPLG-TV reports. Employees caught the fake bills and contacted the store's loss prevention officers.

Abraham, 36, allegedly had "concealed several items in a storage bin," and she kept pacing while trying to find a chance to flee. She was detained by prevention officers, who found roughly $865 worth of merchandise in the bin.

When Miami-Dade police reached the scene, an officer about to take Abraham into custody told her to remove her jewelry. That's when she began stuffing about $200 worth of counterfeit bills into her mouth in an effort to eat the evidence.

Abraham, who has a history of theft arrests in the county, was arrested and charged with felony grand theft and uttering forged bills.
