While responding to a fire that broke out at an apartment complex, San Antonio police officers knocked down an apartment door to pull out a trapped man suffering from smoke inhalation.

San Antonio police officers broke into a burning apartment to pull out a man suffering from smoke inhalation over the weekend.

The fire broke out at about 5 a.m. Sunday in a San Antonio apartment complex, KSAT-TV reports. When police reached the scene, they discovered that a man was still inside one of the units.

Officers broke down the door of the apartment the man was in and got him to safety. The man was suffering from smoke inhalation from the fire, and medics treated him at the scene.

Firefighters put out the blaze quickly. An early investigation determined the fire began in an apartment kitchen, but no details were released concerning the cause.
