Better safe than sorry, right?

A Nebraska police department reported an unusual call during its overnight shift this week.

Officers from Bellevue, Nebraska said on Twitter a family reported “a burglary in progress,” even though the actual situation was much less terrifying.

The household that called in the burglary reported hearing footsteps from upstairs, prompting them to call the police in the first place.

When the police arrived, they found an unlikely suspect: the family’s Roomba, moving around and just doing its job.

A Roomba is a self-cleaning robot vacuum that navigates areas on its own.

Twitter users poked fun upon seeing the unusual tweet from the police department.

“Armed with dust and particles - glad he was not apprehended for just doing his job!!” one user wrote.

“I get the confusion, I sometimes think my roomba is the garbage truck,” another said.
