A police officer recently shared his experience after mistakenly responding to a residence before Christmas.
The officer, who chose to remain unnamed, sent the note -- and touching images -- to the Ohio Going Blue Facebook page.
The officer said that he and his partner accidentally went to the incorrect address while on a run and came upon a Christmas tree honoring fallen officers.
"The owner took the time to write down every Officer killed in the line of duty this year and place it on the tree," the officer wrote. "Not only did she do all the Humans but she included all the K9s on the small ornaments."
The officer said that the encounter must have been fate, as the homeowner had just finished decorating what she called the "Tree of Honor."
