A Stark County, Ohio Sheriff's deputy was killed in an accidental shooting Sunday night.
Deputy John Campbell died after there was an discharge of a gun causing a bullet to travel through a wall at his home on Vixen Street in Lake Township around 9:47 p.m., according to WEWS-TV.
Campbell, who served as the chief deputy, joined the Stark County Sheriff’s Office in February 2015. Before being employed by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, he was employed by the Ohio Investigative Unit as an agent in charge of the Canton, Toledo, and Cleveland Districts.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy, and their two sons John and Joshua.
