A woman says that an employee at a Pennsylvania Party City wouldn't fill her balloon order after finding out they were meant for a police officer's memorial ceremony.

Farly Lane told WPXI-TV that she went to the store on Saturday to buy a dozen blue and black balloons in honor of her friend, Duquesne Officer Robert GoGo Jr.

GoGo was killed in an off-duty motorcycle wreck almost a month ago.

When Lane told the employee at the Pleasant Hills store that the balloons were for a memorial ceremony for the officer, she said that the clerk refused to support a police officer and had someone else wait on her.

"How can you not support a police officer? It doesn't matter. They don't know my brother," GoGo's sister Jennifer Martino told WPXI-TV. "They don't know what kind of man he was. They don't know what he did in his job. It just hurts," .

After being notified of the incident, Party City's corporate offices released a statement saying that it is being looking into.

"Party City is committed to our customers and the community," the statement reads. "Corporate management is looking into the matter to uncover what transpired and will take action accordingly."
