Minnesota Deputy Shot; Suspect in Custody

A Polk County deputy was wounded Monday morning and the suspected gunman was arrested.

A Polk County, Minnesota Sheriff's deputy was shot and wounded Monday morning and the suspected gunman was taken into custody.

The deputy was reportedly shot in the left arm by a high-powered rifle and may have been riding in a helicopter at the time of the shooting, according to KVLY-TV.

The shooting took place in Clearwater County in rural Fosston near the Clearwater-Polk County line.

The deputy was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His conidtion is unknow.

Authorities converged on the property where the shooting occured around 11 a.m. and a suspect was taken into custody after being found in an out building.
