A victim of the tragic massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando reunited last week with the police officer who saved his life.

Angel Colon, who was shot three times and critically injured by the gunman in the attack that claimed the lives of 49 club-goers on June 12, was able to survive after Eatonville Police Officer Omar Delgado pulled him to safety, according to ABC News.

Delgado visited Colon on Thursday at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

"My name is Officer Omar Delgado. I'm one of the ones that helped you get out of harm's way," the officer told Colon. "I need a big hug."

The two men embraced for several moments while Delgado told Colon repeatedly that he was "so glad" he was alive.

The man's family cried and hugged each other in the background while the victim and officer talked.

"I was so happy," Colon said after the meeting "I've been wanting to see the man that took me out of that horrible place."

The officer said he is grateful he was able to help someone else amid such a tragedy.

"You only get one life," Delgado said. "I'm glad now that he can be with his family and continue living his life."
