The son of a diplomat was arrested after he attacked two NYPD officers inside a Bronx apartment building on Saturday.
Officials say that 26-year-old Antonio dos Santos ripped the shield off an officer's uniform then shoved a second officer down the stairs, fracturing his leg in 17 places, according to The New York Daily News.
The incident occurred on Decatur Avenue near East Gun Hill Road in Norwood around 6 p.m. after he got into an argument with an "old roommate."
While Dos Santos failed to obey the officer's commands to leave the building, he fought back as police attempted to arrest him.
He then grabbed Officer Jessica Fermaint by the uniform and removed her shield and clawed at her chest. He then pushed the other officer down a fourth-floor stairwell.
Dos Santos, an Angola native remained in custody on Rikers Island Monday on $75,000 bail after he was arraigned Sunday on assault charges.
The incident is currently under investigation.
