Key West Police Officer Scott Standerwick helped rescue a local woman who became stuck in a giant banyan tree.

A police officer in Key West, Florida helped rescue a local woman who became stuck in a giant banyan tree.

Officer Scott Standerwick and fire rescue personnel responded to a call Tuesday morning after recieving a call that a woman became stuck while climbing the tree, according to WPLG-TV.

To the surprise of the first responders, the woman actually became stuck inside the tree.

A photo posted on the Key West Police Department's Facebook page shows the woman wedged in the branches of the tree.

Standerwick and others on the scene were able to eventually free her.

"They popped her out like a cork," a Key West Police Department spokesperson told the news station.
