Texas Police Chief Struck by Tractor-Trailer
The police chief of Groesbeck, Texas was hospitalized after he was struck by a tractor trailer Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Chris Henson had just finished up crossing guard duties at a nearby school when he went to direct traffic at the intersection of Highway 14 and 164 when the incident occurred around 8 a.m., according to KXXV-TV.
Officials said that as Henson directed the driver of the 18-wheeler to turn left from Highway 164 on to Highway 14 when the back of the trailer struck the police chief.
Henson sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Baylor Scott and White HIllcrest Hospital in Waco. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash.
