Indiana State Trooper Seriously Hurt in Crash

An Indiana State Trooper was seriously injured in a crash Wednesday morning.

Trooper Jacob Raupp was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 at the 15.7 mile marker in the center lane approaching other traffic that had slowed for unknown reasons.

The trooper's 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe marked patrol vehicle struck the rear of a 2001 International semi that was pulling an empty flatbed trailer.

Raupp had to be extricated from the SUV and was airlifted from the scene to Christ Advocate Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill. for serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, Terry D. Shaw was not injured in the crash.
