Oregon Police Officer Shot, Suspect Killed
An officer in Beaverton, Oregon was shot Wednesday morning and the suspected gunman was fatally wounded.
Police responded to a domestic-violence call at Hidden Village Mobile Estates on Southwest 104th Avenue around 7 a.m. to find a man throwing bricks and household items out of a home and breaking windows, according to The Oregonian.
Washington County's SWAT team had been called in to search the home and as they approached, the man fired at officers, striking one.
The wounded officer was cleared from the scene and others officers returned fire, fatally wounding the man who died on the front porch of the home.
Beaverton Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Rowe told the newspaper that the officer is currently being treated and characterized his condition as "stable."
The incident is currently under investigation.
