Ohio Deputy Buys New iPad for Girl in Need

A Lake County, Ohio Sheriff's deputy helped a young girl running a lemonade stand on Monday.
Deputy Zach Ropos was on patrol when he stopped by the stand ran by Gabrielle to buy a glass and asked her what she was doing for her money.
The girl explained that she wanted to buy an iPad so she could play games on it and go on the Internet for school. She told Ropos that her family was having a difficult time financially and that she would have to work hard this summer selling lemonade to get enough to buy one on her own.
Ropos went home after his shift and looked for an old iPad he wanted to give to the girl. When he discovered the device no longer worked, he went out and bought her a new one on his own.
On Tuesday he presented Gabrielle with own tablet. The girl's mother then told me that she had offered to give all of her earnings from the lemonade stand so that she could buy gas for her car.
"I am sure he will be embarrassed to hear this highlighted and that it was never his intention to get recognized. But great job Deputy Ropos on making this little girl's day," Chief Deputy Frank Leonbruno wrote on the department's Facebook page. "You really make a difference."
