Iowa Sheriff's K-9 Dies After Cruiser Crash

Audubon County Sheriff's K-9 Harry died on March 28 following a cruiser crash the previous night.

A Iowa K-9 succumbed to his injuries following a cruiser crash the night of March 27.

Audubon County Sheriff's K-9 Harry was involved in a single vehicle crash with his handler, Deputy Shaun Young, and was pronounced dead the following day, according to WeAreIowa.com

Young was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

K-9 Harry had worked with the Aubudon County Sheriff's Department since 2010.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

A post on the Guthrie County Sheriff's Office Facebook page states: "Deputy Young and K9 Harry enjoyed a ton of success and could always be heard making traffic stops and arrests in Audubon County."

A memorial service will be held for K-9 Harry at the Audubon City Park at 5 p.m. on April 9.
