A Washington County, Ore. deputy and his K-9 rescued an 8-year-old autistic boy from a creek on Sunday.
Deputy Daniel DiPietro and K-9 Maverick responded to the Cedar Hills neighborhood after the boy was reported missing by his family around 5:42 p.m. in the, according to The Oregonian
The search moved through a heavily wooded area adjacent to Ward Creek, which was cold and swollen by recent rains.
DiPietro and Maverick soon located the boy, who was wet and shivering due to the frigid water.
The little boy needed immediate assistance to pull him back from the stream's edge and to prevent suffering from hypothermia.
The youth sustained no life-threatening injuries and was able to return home to his parents.
