What to know
-
Thurston County sheriff's deputies arrested a 25-year-old man after a nearly hourlong standoff in Rochester involving a K-9 and less-lethal force.
-
The suspect, reportedly under the influence of meth, exited a trailer holding what appeared to be a weapon but was later identified as a flashlight.
-
He faces multiple domestic violence–related charges, according to jail records.
Deputies used a taser and what Sanders described as a “40mm less lethal round,” but the suspect turned and tried to make a run for it, he wrote. The black object turned out to be a flashlight, Sanders said.
A police dog was then used to take the man into custody, according to the post.
The 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary/domestic violence, first-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer, violation of a no-contact order/domestic violence, possession of a synthetic narcotic, and first-degree theft/domestic violence, according to Thurston County jail information.
