COLCHESTER, CT—A Colchester police dog helped track down a driver who fled a crash on Friday, according to police.
The Colchester Police Department said officers were called to a one-vehicle crash into a stone wall on Scott Hill Road around 10:10 p.m. Friday. At the scene, police said the truck was empty and the driver was “nowhere to be found.”
Officer Dominic Sullivan used K-9 Dutch to track down the operator, who was found hiding in the woods about 100 yards away, according to police.
Colchester police said the 20-year-old driver, who was not immediately identified, is charged with evading responsibility, operating under the influence, interfering with an officer and traveling unreasonably fast.
