Body camera captured a fleeing knife-wielding suspect in domestic incident trying to disarm a Virginia police officer's gun before he was subdued by another officer's Taser last month.

The confrontation happened just before 10 a.m. July 28 when Fairfax County police responded to an Annandale home concerning a man armed with a knife, the department stated in a news release. While investigating the incident, officers discovered that the suspect, identified as Nehemia Fuentes Banegas, was armed with two knives and had an argument at the home before stabbing himself and fleeing on foot.

Police called in air and K-9 units and set up a perimeter around the area. Officers on foot searched a wooded area with heavy vegetation. 

During the search, Fuentes Banegas grabbed an officer's handgun after jumping out from heavy brush. The confrontation was caught by the officer's body camera.

The officer fired the gun as the suspect to disarm him. Another officer deployed a Taser.
