A man with a shotgun was shot and wounded by Ohio police earlier this month after the suspect allegedly threaten residents in a neighborhood.

The shooting happened May 17 when Toledo police received a report of a man who loaded a shotgun while threatening to kill multiple people, according to a department news release. When police reached the scene, they encountered the armed suspect, later identified as Brandon Pechette, on a home's front lawn. Body camera footage released Wednesday captured the incident.

Officers ordered Pechette to drop his shotgun and surrender, but he wouldn't comply. In the body camera footage, Pechette appears to point his shotgun at police, and officers open fire.

Pechette was struck by the gunfire, and he was taken into custody. Medics treated Pechette, who was rushed to the hospital. The officers were uninjured.

The shooting is under investigation.
