Watch: Texas Police Officer Saves Baby From Car in Flooded Crossing

Body camera footage shows a Beeville police officer pushing through heavy rain and rising floodwaters to reach a stranded vehicle and carry an infant to safety.

Once he reached the officer reached the vehicle, the driver handed him the infant, who was in a car seat carrier. The officer grabbed the carrier and slowly made his way to safety.

Making his way through the flooding, the officer handed off the baby to another first responder. 

"I got the baby out," the officer said at the end.

No one was injured in the incident, according to police.

"Situations like this are a reminder that flood water is nothing to gamble with," the department stated. "It does not take much moving water to push a vehicle off the roadway, and by the time you realize how dangerous it is, it can already be too late."
