Colorado police had to deal with a slippery suspect wanted on a felony warrant when they chased the man, who was covered in mud and wearing a Speedo, as he ran through a hot springs resort last month.

The incident happened Aug. 26 when Idaho Springs police responded to the Indian Hot Springs Resort & Spa after reports of credit card fraud and stolen ID involving a suspect —identified as Alec Bogus—who also was wanted on a felony warrant in Douglas County, KDVR-TV reports. Covered in mud and wearing a Speedo after a mud bath, Bogus allegedly fled officers when they confronted him about the outstanding warrant.

In body camera footage released by the department, Bogus is seen running through the resort, heading to the nearby cabins and a parking lot. Clear Creek County sheriff's deputies were called in to help and deployed a drone to locate the suspect.

Police found Bogus hiding in a resident’s shed, and he was taken into custody.

Two officers suffered knee injuries during the chase. Bogus also injured a knee and was treated at a hospital before being booked into jail.

Bogus faces multiple charges, including assault on a police officer, second-degree burglary, escape, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. The outstanding Douglas County warrant involved felony assault.
