A Bradenton police officer was dragged by a vehicle about 150 feet during a traffic stop when a driver refused to turn off his car's engine and sped away with the officer pinned against the dashboard.

The officer then opened the vehicle's door and reached in to shift the car to park. That's when Macias-Rangel sped away, pinning the officer against the car's dashboard.
The officer was dragged by the car for roughly 150 feet before slamming into a pole. As he was arrested, Macias-Rangle fought and struck several officers, and a vehicle search found over a kilogram of marijuana and 62 THC vape cartridges.
The officer was rushed to the hospital with a concussion, a dislocated shoulder and minor leg injuries. He was treated and released.
