A group of officers rescued a lost dog from drowning in the backyard pool of a Robbinsville home on Saturday, authorities said.

Robbinsville Police Patrolmen James Pica, Michael Slininger and Ryan Meehan were called to house on Sienna Court following a 911 call and Pica and Slininger were able to remove the dog from the pool, according to Facebook post from the department.

The dog, named Zissou, was in distress and likely would have drowned if the officers had not gotten there when they did, the department said.
