Sweet Justice: Boy Calls Wis. Police on Mom who Ate His Ice Cream
A 4-year-old boy wanted his mom to go to jail after she ate his ice, and he called Mount Pleasant police to see that the frozen treat felon was thrown into the cooler.
A Wisconsin police officer responded to a sweet call last week when a 4-year-old boy wanted his mom sent to the big house for eating his ice cream.
The charming call about a confection crime came into the Mount Pleasant Police Department on March 4 and ended in a hangup, the agency stated in an online update. Before the call was disconnected, an upset young boy could be heard telling dispatchers what was wrong.
"My mommy is being bad. … Come and get my mommy," the boy said to dispatchers, WTMJ-TV reports.
The boy's mom eventually got on the phone to explain the situation.
"I ate his ice cream, so that's probably why he's calling 9-1-1," she said.
Officers were sent to home where the call originated to make sure there was nothing more serious than a Mr. Misty-meanor. When they reached the house, the boy wanted his frozen treat felon of a mom sent to the cooler. But he eventually eased his tough-on-ice cream-crime stance.
"He told them he no longer wanted her to go to jail and just wanted some ice cream," the department stated.
Taking the boy's change of heart seriously, the officers left without taking the boy's mom into custody. But they returned the next day to make sure the child's sweet tooth was satisfied.
"Officers responded back today to surprise him with some ice cream after he decided he didn’t want mom in trouble anymore!"
