It was so foggy, a woman accidentally drove down a boat ramp and into a reservoir, Colorado deputies said.

Two women called 9-1-1 from a sinking car after they accidentally drove into Cherry Creek Reservoir, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet Monday, Sept. 12.

In a 9-1-1 call obtained by KDVR, the women told dispatchers they couldn’t leave the car because they couldn’t swim.

Deputies rushed to the scene to help the women. Two rescuers jumped into the water and swam to the car, video shows.

They pulled the women from the vehicle and brought them to shore.

The next day, South Metro Fire Rescue pulled the car out of the reservoir, video shows.

Deputies told KDVR the visibility was very bad because of fog.

“It almost looked like a foggy roadway on a fall day,” Deputy Riley Nolan told the news outlet.
