This Shield at original weight of only 20 lbs. can now be enhanced to provide even better coverage, visibility and safety. The Type III shield is provided with the HomePlate handle system and protects against multiple 7.62 x 51mm (M80) and lesser threats.
Also, available at only 6 lbs. is the Type IIIA ballistic shield which is ergonomically designed to be highly maneuverable, and still ensure maximum coverage from the head through the pelvic region. This shield has a unique suspension carrying system and a versatile design, which allows for ambidextrous use and freedom to operate your weapon with either hand. Like the Type III this shield can protect against multiple-shots. The Type IIIA defeats NIJ Standards from the .44 Mag and lesser threats.
