A Ripley, Tennessee police officer has been indicted on charges that he had sex with a prostitute while on duty and inside his patrol car.
Lt. Donald Bonds was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Lauderdale County Justice Complex on Monday, according to The Chattanoogan.
At the request of 25th District Attorney General Mike Dunavant, on March 27, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agents began investigating Bonds on allegations of sexual misconduct.
During the investigation, agents discovered that on two separate occasions in January and February 2017, the lieutenant paid to have sex while on duty in his cruiser.
Bonds was charged with four counts of official misconduct and two counts of patronizing prostitution. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is suspended without pay.
