Police officials in Marlboro Township, New Jersey say that a man planned an attack on the police department.
Timothy J. Ward was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Street and Market Avenue North in Lake Township on two counts each of retaliation and having weapons under disability, according to The Canton Repository.
Court records show that former girlfriend of Ward's told police on June 3 that the 51-year-old man planned to place armed mannequins around the police department to shoot officers and also planned to blow up the building.
When police searched Ward's home on June 15, they found mannequins and explosive devices.
"We had information that he was stockpiling weapons and explosives and had made threats against the police department," Marlboro Township Police Chief Ron Devies said.
Ward remained in the jail early Wednesday with a $25,000 bond pending a court hearing.
