Shots Fired at Tennessee Sheriff's Residence

An investigation is underway after a drive-by shooting occurred at the home of Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold Monday night.

A investigation was launched after shots were fired at the home of a Tennessee sheriff Monday night.

Officials said that a drive-by shooting occurred at the home of Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold on Osborne Lane in Murfreesboro around 9 p.m., according to WTVF-TV.

Members of both the Murfreesboro Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Officials said that at least six shell casing were found outside the home and there was no evidence that showed any of the rounds made it though the home. No injuries were reported in the shooting.

The Sheriff's Office confirmed with the news station that Arnold, his wife and their children were all inside the residence when the shooting occurred.

The suspects took off and remain at large. It was unknown if the home was targeted and what the motive for the shooting was.
