Authorities have charged three Albemarle County siblings in connection with the disappearance of Kevin Wayne Quick, a missing Waynesboro police reserve captain.
The Virginia State Police also said today during a news conference in Charlottesville that they have linked Quick's Toyota 4Runner to an armed robbery and shooting Sunday at a Louisa County home.
Authorities have charged Mersadies Shelton, 20, and Daniel Mathis, 18, in the theft of Quick's SUV, said Corinne Geller, a spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police.
Quick is still missing, but the SUV has been recovered.
Mathis also faces several charges in Sunday's shooting in the 700 block of Mica Road in Louisa County.
The third suspect, Shantai M. Shelton, 24, was taken into custody on an unrelated outstanding warrant issued by the Louisa Sheriff's Office.
The suspects were taken into custody in Alexandria and are being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
"There probably will be additional charges," Geller said at the news conference.
Quick has been missing since Friday night.
Surveillance photos from a cash machine in Fork Union on Friday night captured two people and also Quick's 1999 Toyota 4Runner, Geller said.
On Saturday, the same two individuals and the SUV were seen again at a cash machine in Manassas, Geller said.
On Sunday, the 4Runner was involved in the armed robbery and shooting in Louisa County, authorities said.
The Waynesboro business community is offering a $30,000 "potential reward" for anyone with information that leads to Quick's discovery, the state police said in a news release.
