ARDMORE, Okla. — A suspect wanted in three separate shootings, including one that injured two federal agents, is dead, police said Thursday night.
Henry Jackson was shot and killed by police during a 9:30 p.m. shootout in Ardmore.
Earlier in the evening, police and federal agents who had been looking for Jackson caught up with him in a northeast Ardmore neighborhood, Sgt. Ryan Hunnicutt said. Jackson opened fire, wounding two federal agents.
One agent was treated at the scene. Another was in good condition at a hospital, Hunnicutt said. He did not release which federal agency they were with. FBI spokesman Rick Rains said the agents were not with the FBI.
Jackson was wanted in two other shootings, one Wednesday night and another Thursday afternoon. None of the victims of those shootings have injuries considered life threatening, police said.
Ardmore Police Chief Ken Grace called all staff to duty and coordinated a massive search for Jackson after his first shootout with police. They found him about three hours later at the corner of H Street NE and Martin Luther King Drive, where he again opened fire on officers.
The officers returned fire and killed Jackson, police said.
