Okla. Police Investigate Cremated Remains in Home
Aug. 24--EDMOND -- An Edmond resident has reported the discovery of cremated remains in their home, police said.
On Sunday, Edmond Police Officer Aaron London responded to the 2000 block of Clover Glen Drive in regard to found property, according to a report filed by London.
The resident said he was clearing out one of the cabinets when he found boxes and bags containing cremated remains, police said. London attempted to contact an unidentified person but did not receive an answer by phone.
One box, which is labeled, is roughly 10 inches by 8 inches by 6 inches, police said. Inside the box is a white cloth with a clear plastic bag containing what appears to be cremated remains.
The other boxes were smaller and they contained a clear plastic bag with what appeared to be cremated remains, police said. Paperwork for the business that did the cremation along with a date of cremation were with the smaller boxes.
Police said the remains were booked into property for safe keeping.
The last transaction related to the home being sold was in July 2011, according to the property's deed history on the Oklahoma County Assessor's Office online database. The one-story home was built in 1984. It has had several different owners.
