Aug. 01--One of the robbers put the cashier in a headlock, police said. The other one pointed a handgun at him, police said, and demanded money.
Nine customers inside the Dunkin' Donuts on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont fled the store during the robbery Tuesday night and were uninjured, Nassau County police said.
The cashier suffered bruising to his jaw, but refused medical attention, police said. Police said two other employees were not injured in the armed robbery.
An unknown amount of cash was taken, police said.
Police are searching for the two suspects, who fled on foot after the robbery at 9:39 p.m. Police said both men wore sunglasses and light-blue Kangol hats. One of the robbers was stocky, police said. The other wore a blue bandanna covering his face -- and a blue No. 60 Dallas Cowboys jersey with white numbers and shoulders.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
