POMONA - The driver of a car was killed on Sunday when a stolen car being pursued by police struck the victim's car in the intersection of Towne and La Verne avenues, Claremont police said.
The suspect suffered non-life threatening injuries. Neither the victim or suspect were identified by Claremont police, who started the pursuit in Claremont.

Police did not say where the pursuit started, but it ended when the suspect ran a red light at the intersection of Towne and La Verne avenues, hit the victim's car broadside and the suspect's car struck a tree.
The driver tried to flee but was apprehended by a Claremont police officer involved in the pursuit. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Police said the car was reported stolen in Rancho Cucamonga earlier in the day.
