July 20--A man who had been on the run since shortly after falling through a hospital's ceiling tiles wearing nothing but his underwear was finally caught Wednesday night, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said.

Edward Joseph Craine, 36, of Lexington had overdosed on bath salts and was discharged Dec. 21 from Frankfort Regional Medical Center. But then he went back to the hospital on Jan. 5 and fell through some ceiling tiles wearing only his underwear.

He was charged and reportedly received treatment at a medical facility but had not returned to court to face charges on disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public intoxication, the sheriff's office said.

On Wednesday night, a resident's tip led Franklin County deputies to make a traffic stop at U.S. 127 North at Peaks Mill Road. Craine ran from the vehicle, and deputies pursued him through a wooded area, a news release said.

The deputies caught Craine and used a stun gun to subdue him. He was charged with fleeing on foot, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Craine had previously been charged with being a persistent felony offender, second-degree robbery and contempt of court, the sheriff's news release said.
