July 07--A pedestrian was hit and injured by a state police trooper late Friday, according to a news release.
Senior trooper Michael P. Luttrell was driving east on KY 876 west of Richmond when his cruiser hit Charles L. Walden, 20, of Richmond, who was walking along the road, state police said in the release.
Walden was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for treatment.
Luttrell, 27, was on duty responding to a non-emergency call at the time. The collision happened about 10 p.m.
Luttrell has been a state trooper for five years, according to the release.
