June 27--A Selden woman was arrested on a drunken-driving charge Tuesday night -- after police said she crashed into the back of a Suffolk County police car driven by an officer from the Anti-Aggressive Driving Task Force.
Laurie Phillips, 47, of 38 Riviera Dr., was charged with driving while intoxicated with a conviction in the past 10 years, police said.
Police said she also was issued tickets for speeding and for talking on her cellphone.
The accident occurred at 9:35 p.m. on Route 25 in Centereach, police said. They said the officer, Andrew DeRose, had been stopped at a red light at Hammond Road and was just pulling away from that light when Phillips, driving a 1994 Pontiac Firebird, crashed into the rear of his patrol car.
Safe-T Section Officer Kevin Wustenhoff made the arrest. DeRose suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson for treatment, police said.
Phillips is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
