N.C. Officer Chasing Motorcyclist Crashes

A police officer pursuing a motorcyclist that had been driving recklessly crashed into a car occupied by a woman and her 8-month-old child, police said this morning.

May 18--GREENSBORO -- A police officer pursuing a motorcyclist that had been driving recklessly crashed into a car occupied by a woman and her 8-month-old child, police said this morning.

Troyanna Jamison and the child were taken to Moses Cone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

At 9:45 p.m. Thursday, officers saw a motorcyclist driving recklessly on High Point Road near Romaine Street and activated their lights and sirens to try to get the driver to pull over, police said.

The motorcycle continued traveling north on High Point Road at a high rate of speed.

Officer Cafolla (police did not provide his first name) entered the intersection of High Point and Holden roads with his lights and sirens activated when he crashed into a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jamison, police said.

The motorcycle continued speeding on High Point Road and was not found.
