May 04--NIAGARA FALLS -- Falls police are ramping up their search for a pair of shooters tied to an incident that left a Falls teen wounded.
Investigators have arrested one suspect in the shooting that left an 18-year-old Falls teen with gunshot wounds to his arm and chest. They're looking for help from the public to find two other men who are accused of unleashing a hail of gunfire after a confrontation at the intersection of Niagara and 12th streets just after 6 p.m. April 25.
Witnesses told detectives a dark colored car, with three male suspects inside, rolled up on a group of young men who were gathered on the street corner. The suspects in the car then reportedly tried to start a fight with the men who were on the corner.
As yelling between the men in the car and the men on the corner escalated, two of the suspects in the car brandished handguns.
As the men on the corner began to run away, the armed suspects began firing at them.
Detectives said Anthony McDougald, 18, was shot in the left arm near his bicep. The bullet then went through the arm and entered his chest.
McDougald was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and then transferred to the Erie County Medical Center. He is expected to recover from his wounds.
Investigators have arrested and charged one suspect in the
shooting. Paul E. Buck, 20, 2463 Whitney Ave., was arrested the day after the shooting and and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Detectives are looking for Jacob J. Taggart, 23, white male, 5-feet-10, weighing 140 pounds and Marlyn M. Rubin, 19, white male, 5-feet-6 and weighing 125 pounds. Taggert and Rubin also face charges of first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Police say both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
