April 23-- A man who is accused of chasing his brother with a machete was arrested and held for immigration officials early Monday after a nearly four-hour standoff with Tulsa police, records show.
Juan Hernandez Ayuzo, 41, refused police orders to leave his apartment in the 2500 block of East Eighth Street and was eventually forced out by a Special Operations Team, an arrest report shows.
Ayuzo was outside when police arrived about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, but he ran into the apartment and hid until he surrendered about 2:30 a.m., according to the report.
A bag of marijuana was in his front pocket, the report says.
Ayuzo's brother had called police to report that Ayuzo threatened to kill him and chased him around the parking lot with a machete, according to the report. The brother was unharmed.
Ayuzo was booked into the Tulsa Jail without bail on complaints of domestic assault with a deadly weapon, marijuana possession and traffic warrants.
Authorities later placed a hold on him for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Tulsa Jail records show.
