Idaho Police Remove Dynamite from Backyard

The Twin Falls Police Department Bomb Squad removed six sticks of dynamite and 21 electric blasting caps today from the basement of a downtown Twin Falls residence.

April 03--TWIN FALLS --The Twin Falls Police Department Bomb Squad removed six sticks of dynamite and 21 electric blasting caps today from the basement of a downtown Twin Falls residence.

Police responded to the scene at about 1 p.m., after receiving a call about suspected dynamite in the backyard of a home on the 300 block of Sixth Avenue East.

Police evacuated residents from nearby homes and barricaded off nearby streets, telling other nearby residents to stay inside. They used their bomb disposal robot to remove the dynamite, which will be disposed of at a safe location.

In a release, the TFPD Bomb Squad reminds residents who find potentially dangerous items of indeterminate origin to immediately notify law enforcement and avoid handling the items.
