March 21--SEATTLE -- A Seattle Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) was hit and injured when he tried to talk to the driver of an illegally parked vehicle Tuesday night.
The PEO was approaching a vehicle parked in a commercial loading zone in in the 100 block of Pine Street about 7 p.m. when the incident occurred.
"The PEO was on foot near the back of the suspect vehicle when the driver suddenly backed up and ran into the PEO," Seattle Police Department spokesperson Jeff Kappel said.
"The suspect then fled the scene northbound through Post Alley and remains at large."
Paramedic treated the PEO at the scene for injuries to his right leg and he was later taken to Harborview Medical Center.
The suspect's vehicle is a green, 4-door Jeep Cherokee. It may have California plates.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Seattle police.
