March 06--A West Palm Beach police officer was shot in the shoulder late Monday, according to the city's emergency manager.
Allan Ortman told the Palm Beach Post that it happened around 10 p.m. near north Haverhill Road and 45th Street, near the Saddlebrook Apartments.
The area around 45th Street was shut down between Haverhill and Military Trail following the shooting, police said.
The officer, who has been with the police department for about five years, was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Ortman said.
There were reports that a suspect was killed in a shootout with police at a Citgo gas station on the 5300 block of 45th Street.
