Feb. 27--Investigators are trying to determine how two people died after their burning bodies were found early today on Detroit's west side.

The bodies were discovered just after 3 a.m. today in an alley off Panama at Proctor, in between two garages in a garbage-strewn alley, Detroit Fire Department Arson Unit Chief ElDon Parham said.

Investigators were trying to determine if they were bound, killed elsewhere and dumped a block north of I-94, in between the Livernois and Lonyo exits. Some type of restraint was found lying across the burning bodies, he said.

"That's what homicide is going to have to look at," Parham said. "They were pretty burned up. It looked like it was some kind of cord."

No one was around the area when investigators arrived at the scene -- just police, Parham said.

Anyone with information can contact the Detroit Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
