Feb. 08--CERES -- An 18-year-old pregnant teen was held captive and beaten for nine days, Ceres Police say.

The suspects were arrested the three suspects, one of whom was the victim's boyfriend, Tuesday.

The victim's boyfriend, 21-year-old Richard Garibay, found a message on the woman's phone that he didn't like on Jan. 27. Police say Garibay started beating the victim and threatened to kill her with a handgun.

According to a release from Ceres Police, one of Garibay's friends came into the room and discussed with Garibay how to get rid of the victim's body. They bound the woman and continued to beat her and threaten to kill her and her family. The two used a knife and tried to strangle her.

Garibay is suspected of being on methamphetamine during the attack.

The victim was finally allowed to leave the house on Feb. 4, because some of her visible injuries had healed. That day, the victim's family took her to the hospital and police were notified. She was treated for bruises and burns from a cigarette lighter.

Police got a search warrant and Garibay was arrested Feb. 7, while at court for a different matter. Garibay is charged with spousal abuse, false imprisonment and making terrorist threats.

While searching the home, investigators found a 5.7 caliber FN handgun, which can fire armor-piercing rounds. Detectives also found a stolen television and methamphetamine. Police say there was evidence that the suspects tried to dispose of the drugs.

At the home, police arrested 20-year-old Armando Osegueda and 35-year-old Jose Osegueda. Armando is charged for making terrorist threats and being an accessory to Garibay's crimes. Jose was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale, unlawful possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of stolen property.
