Lititz Borough will introduce a special events staff to will replace the former Lititz Fire Police.

Lititz Borough will introduce a special events staff to will replace the former Lititz Fire Police.

Operating under the auspices of the Lititz Borough Police, the special events staff will provide traffic control for events such as parades, fairs, bike races and runs.

Police Chief William Seace told council members Jan. 31 the new group of volunteers should be available for the April 7 Sauder Easter Egg Run.

"The traffic control staff may be comprised of fire police officers from neighboring communities," Seace said.

Upcoming events include the Tour de Lititz Bike Race and the Lititz Pretzel Fest on April 28.

A multi-recCenter bike race is set for June 24 and the annual Lititz Chocolate Walk is on the calendar for Oct. 6.

Council also approved the use of the Lions Club Park for Warwick Little League from March through June and the Lititz recCenter lower field for the Warwick Swarm Rugby Team from February through May.
