Officers Rescue Calif. Man From Under Car
Jan. 30--CITRUS HEIGHTS -- Firefighters say a 50-year-old man would be dead had it not been for the quick actions of two Citrus Heights officers.
A man was working under a car at a home on Sunburst Way, when it slipped off the jack and pinned him on Jan. 16.
Officers arrived on scene first and saw that the man was still pinned. Community Services Officer Aaron Copeland and Police Officer Jeff Schouten found the jack and lifted the car off the man.
The two officers were about to perform CPR, when, according to a news release from the Sac Metro Fire Department, the man gasped and opened his eyes and began breathing.
Crews transported the man to Mercy San Juan Hospital. He only suffered three broken ribs and is doing fine at home.
