SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, FRANKLIN COUNTY -- A Chambersburg woman is charged with biting a man and chasing him with a steak knife on Christmas Eve, then assaulting one of the state troopers who responded to the scene.
Julie Dian Over, 47, of 150 E. Queen St., Apt. D, is charged with two counts of
aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and two counts of harassment.
She waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court. Her arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 22 in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.
Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, responded about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 24 to a reported domestic disturbance at 73 Lenwood Park in Southampton Township, according to a police affidavit. They arrived and separated Over from Jason Bitner.
He told police that Over had chased him throughout the home with a steak knife, allegedly attempting to cut him with it. She is also accused of biting his right hand during the dispute.
When Trooper Antwjuan Cox tried to speak with over, she allegedly "became verbally aggressive," and called the trooper a racial slur. She was arrested and police determined that she was under the supervision of Franklin County Probation.
Cox was attempting to secure Over in his patrol vehicle when she repeatedly called him the same racial slur, ignored his commands and kicked him in the left arm.
She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plum and placed in Franklin County Jail in lieu of $75,000 straight bail.
According to online court records, her bail conditions were reduced Tuesday to an unsecured amount. A jail representative said she was still there Tuesday evening.
