Village of Pewaukee - A 21-year-old Village of Pewaukee man is facing charges after he fought with police officers, even after being stunned by a Taser gun three times, according to police.
According to the police report, an officer was on patrol Dec. 23 at about 2 a.m. when he saw a large group of people outside Casa Tequila, 1405 Pewaukee Road, and stopped to see what was occurring. As the officer approached the restaurant, he saw the 21-year-old man yelling obscenities "at the top of his lungs" to the group, the report said.
The officer approached the man who then threatened a male standing in the group, though the Pewaukee man saw the officer coming toward him. The officer saw the Pewaukee man had a bloody nose and a bloody mouth, the report said.
Though the officer was near the Pewaukee man, he continued to verbally threaten the man in the group resulting in the officer attempting to escort the Pewaukee man away from the group, the report said. The man told the officer to get his hands off him and he tried to get away, and at one point was able to slip out of his coat, the report said.
The Pewaukee man then attempted to hit the officer's head with his elbow leading the officer to forcibly take the man down to the ground. The man continued to fight, yell, scream and use obscenities while on the ground. The officer told the man he would use his stun gun if the man did not cooperate, but the man said he did not care, the report said.
The officer would use the stun gun three times, but the man continued to kick, yell and resist the officers. Additional officers and Waukesha County Sheriff's Department deputies arrived and while trying to take the man to a squad car, the man flailed his arms and was kicking, the report said.
A Pewaukee Fire Department ambulance was called and emergency medical technicians attempted to treat the man, but he did not cooperate, resulting in the man being strapped onto a cot and then put into an ambulance, the report said. In the ambulance the man kicked the side of the vehicle and made threatening remarks, the report said.
At the hospital, the man swore at the nurses and physicians eventually had to sedate the man to treat his wounds, the report said. The man apparently suffered a head injury when he was on the ground with officers, the report noted.
Police learned the man was "loud and aggressive" inside Casa Tequila and employees removed the man from the premises. Police suspect one of the patrons may have hit the man in the face, the report said.
Police are requesting the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office charge the man with disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer.
